I've just purchased this fan from an antique dealer (Victoria, British Columbia), everything is working and it appears to be in immaculate condition, but I'm wondering how to turn off the oscillating motion of the fan. This is a 3 speed model with 4 brass blades..any suggestions. Thanks.

Probably will want to post this in one of the main forum sections instead of "Buy-Sell-Trade" and post a photo or two if at all possible. R&M made a lot of different model fans over the years and without seeing it, it will be hard to tell you how to adjust the oscillator.

Alot of the time there is a knob on the gearbox that you turn that stops it from oscillating

If the fan is one of those "warp speed" universal continuous oscillating fans, you can bypass it by unscrewing the screw in the bottom of the oscillator wheel that holds the knob and put it directly in the middle. I do this with my 2610 R&M. What is the list number on your fan?

The tag on the top of the motor behind the cage and blade.
