1911 electrical trade journal has Menominee fan motors offered for 8" stationary tab base, 12" ball motors offered either for specific AC or DC operation. 8", 12" AC or DC all have laminated stators with armature with brushed commutator. There is a 16" direct current only fan motor. It does not specify any details regarding the 16" direct current model.

1912 INTRODUCES two new Menominee fan motors to their present line of fan motors. The first would be the Horizontal table fan(bank teller fan using fan collector slang), the second would be the FIRST introduction of a Menominee INDUCTION fan motor. THE UNIQUE OSCILLATING FAN MOTOR WITH PHENOLIC BULL GEAR APPEARS TO AT THIS TIME ONLY FIT INTO THE 1912 MENOMINEE FAN MOTOR SEASON.

1913 electrical trade journal describes ALL Menominee oscillating fan motors commutated or induction models of the worm gear type mounted inside a gear case at the rear of the fan.

Well done, Kim.
It would be nice to see videos of the fans in operation, especially the unusual oscillators.

A lot of the fans belong to private owners, so without their permission, I'd be hesitant to operate the fans. Anything that belongs to Tom or myself, I'd have no problem showing them in operation.

Todays offerings are unusual, as they are water driven fans, and made right here in Indianapolis...

Dean, the fans I've posted are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe there are over 2000 fans, everything from M&M handheld personal fans to battery operated Edisons to you name it, it's probably in here. To understand the depth and scope of the fans here in the museum, you need to visit....and my shop is just on the other side of the wall....The fan for Friday will get really have you foaming. One of the other great things about working here, is being able to futz around. For example, the Fanimation pedestal fan is called The Old Havana. It's inspiration was the Cincinnati Victor "Luminaire" funeral fan. The Old Havanas are on either side of the Luminaires in the museum display......Sorry about the picture....

Had a bunch of parts from damaged Luminaires so what else is there to do but 'futz' around and put a finial and lights on the Old Havana....

OK Kim! If you hook me up with a nice warm jacket and some rubber boots for the snow, I just might come up there next year!!!😜
All of my cousins aunts and uncles and everyone else that is still living, live in Minnesota, so that would put me at least halfway.🤓
But I will need a lot of pillows to haul the fans! And I'm sure you know what I mean ......lol
