You really did a great job cleaning that up! That's some serious work. The blades look amazing.

I think they made those fans (or very very similar design) for quite some time. I'm not sure yours is late 40's but it could be. I am thinking maybe mid-50's. A fellow collector told me that after much begging, his father took him to Sears when he was 5 years old in 1961 so he could buy the 8-inch stationary version with his allowance money. The guard on yours looks slightly "beefier" than his (which he still has), but color and other design elements are similar.
