That's a very early 3 wing Vortalex probably from about 1938-1940 seeing as the Vortalexes were introduced in 1936 I believe if I'm not mistaken possibly even 1937 at the earliest if the blades are bent on a vortalex then yes expect the fan to vibrate excessively and expect to have a hard time getting the blades back into balance again because the Vortalex blades are the hardest blades to balance out of all of the different kinds of blades out there, that's why when you find a vortalex fan you must make sure the blades are balanced (the fan doesn't vibrate) before you buy it otherwise its basically going to be more trouble than its worth to restore.

Another reason might be that the blade on the top left is 1 1/2-2 hr behind. ![]()

Looks like a 1938-39 9”. I’ve got an oscillating cream desk of this sort and same in the pedestal, both of which had blade challenges but not like this! I do like the older 5x3 cream Vortys though so even this would be tempting.

I believe those to be quite rare fans. However, those aluminum blades are prone to cracking when you attempt to bend them back.

Ouch! Actually the way the hub is stamped and formed of aluminum with the spiders kinda folded back at a 90 degree from the hub, it takes very little to knock these out of clock, and yes, because the hubs are drawn aluminum ( likely with a lot of work hardening from the original stamping and forming), they don't respond well to a lot of bending and can crack., just like Andrew said.
