I have my gear box cleaned out and ready for new grease but I was wondering if there is supposed to be a gasket between the top and bottom pieces of the gear box?  It didn't have one when I took it apart but it looks like something it might have to help keep the grease from oozing out when running.

No gasket, the case is machined with a close fit, the thick grease can’t get out.
