Restoring my 8" Menominee tab foot, it's rewired, switch repaired, new feet and brushes ( Thanks to Darryl Hudson) filled, sanded and ready to paint. The armature looks great, but thinking I should spray insulation on it. Any help on that would be appreciated. All so what kind of grease I use. Thank You Bobby

Judging from the pictures in the galleria it dates 1913, there was no tag just what was stamped on the Badge. Any information on the would be appreciated .

If its from 1913 it would of been the last run of the Tabfoot Staghorns because in 1914 they introduced the flare-bottom staghorns like mine is, which mine is a first run of the flare-bottom staghorns, as pictured below.

As for grease to lube the bearings, I just use something called Standard Cup Grease, which I'm not sure what it was originally used for but it works perfectly for lubricating fan gearboxes and filling grease cups and greaserts on old fans.

Your commutator appears to have little wear.  You can very carefully using a wire wheel on a Dremel remove the surface rust on the armature laminations.  DO NOT slip and damage the windings under that cloth covering. You can mask off the armature shaft and commutator and give the armature laminations a light spray of insulating varnish once they are carefully wire wheeled to bare metal.
