Can anyone clue me in on the oscillator operation on this fan? What actually engages and disengages the oscillator? By pulling the knob out or unscrewing it? I hope it's something stupid that I haven't tried :hammer: 








What's the purpose of the two ball bearings?

Vic, rotate the knob clockwise, the balls drop into the receiver holes in the large gear and the fan oscillates.  Rotate the knob CCW, the balls disengage and oscillation ceases.  Or at least that's the way it works on a 12" 367.  Jim

I think the balls are probably spring loaded, so you might want to make sure they aren't siezed up and can actually depress back into their bores.  I checked my notes on the 267 and 367s I've got, but evidently everything met with my satisfaction because nothing in the notes about the detent ball things.  And naturally, it's been long enough ago that my memory has faded.
