Hi folks hi. Days are getting shorter but not much cooler yet so the fans are still running. This reminds me to remind you all that we will host in Harrison , another old fan workshop on Nov 1 & 2 Friday & Saturday with early arrivals welcome on halloween eve. and late departures welcomed on the following Sunday. We are not usually besieged with trick or treaters  on the 31st but feel free to bring treats if you arrive on Thursday. We will serve a country buffet Saturday noonish and will take a role call closer to the weekend for a head count ( or maybe that should be a hungry mouth count). Also for those who have never been and those that were here , the link below will take you to a brief 20 minutes of the 23rd Ozark regional , Pickin' 23.  enjoy , happy fan collector.

Doc,

I was checkin in this morning to our AFCA site and saw your post and all I can say is a huge WOW!! This is a great video and I would encourage all who come across it to take time to see some of the fun that goes on @ Pig Pickin & the Old Fan Workshop.

You and your bride Linda are very special people in more ways than most know. The people that frequent your Pig Pickin and Old Fan Workshop are so blessed with not only your hospitality, but an overall great experience that is not easily described. I have known you for a lot of years and you and Linda have allowed hoards of people to "invade" the Dunaway "farm" to experience a "sensory overload" of not only the viewing of more fans than most can comprehend, but to see old friends, meet new friends, gain knowledge to many topics, work on old fans, enjoy great food, and the list goes on and on.

Now a brief thanks to another reason for attending one of Docs doins and that would be to topic of "Paul Graves"..........What a wealth of knowledge and we also thank Paul for all he does to make these meets @ Docs such a privilege to attend..........thanks Paul.

Also a big thanks to "all of those people" that work in the background to help make these meets the successes that they are......... If you haven't yet made it to one of Doc's meets please try to attend and join the wonderful time.......

I am not even close to being a good wordsmith, but I have attempted to give special attention and thanks to this wonderful couple ..... Geoff (Doc) & Linda Dunaway and to all the others that make these meets such a Great Experience.

Dan ~ who is really lookin forward to attendin another Old Fan Workshop

Great video Geoff!
I plan to come Friday & Saturday.
Please save me a spot on the workbench!

What I am wanting:
Single bearing Emerson Junior oscillator with decent paint.
Nice 77646 12" Emerson bullet back.
Shoulder screws for above.

I'll bring a few Variacs if anyone is interested???   PM me.

Looking forward to visiting with fan friends, and letting the air out of Sherwood's barge tires.

Geoff - myself and a new member by the name of Frank McCormack (no relation) will be attending Friday afternoon through early Sunday.  Also - a question - we have another guy who would like to join but is not a member.  Is membership required to attend?  My guess is he would end up joining shortly before or soon after.  Please let me know. Really looking forward to attending our first workshop!

Wow! Looks amazing. I would love to be able to attend one (one of these days). We'll actually be in Heber Springs fishing for trout in mid-October, but back in Texas during the Workshop.  Looks like a great time.

Well then.... Come on down with a problem to solve....while there's a workshop to go to. Harold Blackburn told me years ago as I was buying fans at his house in Springfield: "Doc, I'm tellin' you , it's later than you think !!!"                               Hope to see you down here.

Great news to see some of you folks coming to a fan meet for the 1st time. We will do our best to make it worth your time and effort.  I hope to have gathered up another $10.00 fan table as well as shedding some duplicate fans and projects that I don't see myself ever getting around to working on. Special invite to Marianne who likes the Bersted / Zero fans...there is a nest of those up here that can be had for little more than a song , you just have to negotiate with Jon Brown and Steve Sherwood as to who gets which ones.   I'll make this an official roll call for all who have not yet chimed in. I especially need to know if you will be here for Saturday lunch. I was worried that i'd lost the row of garlic in the garden but saw it last night bustin' up out of the ground so there will be plenty of garlic slaw .  We had a bumper crop of cherries this spring so there should be lots of Cherry cobbler & Ice cream for desert. :P.  PM me or respond to this thread or email me at ozarkfan@windstream.net & we'll leave the light on for you.

                                                                                                                Happy Fan Collector

Rocky , U left out "some" which was located between shedding and duplicates. The Jr's have indicated that they're happy on the shelf where they sit so I won't disturb them.

I plan to be there by Saturday morning.  Once, again, my brother will be making the trip as well as his wife for the first time.  I am bring a few fans to sell for anyone who needs a new project to work on.  I can, also, deliver this nice 1920s sconce if anyone wants to buy it.  I am asking $250 and it does work.

Please post pictures from the workshop! Videos of the demonstrations would be most appreciated, too. If anyone sees an Emerson 12โ€ steel cage, circa 1922, in excellent condition for sale, Iโ€™d appreciate a heads-up :-)

So sad I canโ€™t be there. Had a preplanned vacation for about two weeks prior and was in NW Arkansas only a stones throw away. Too early. And to further add to things, when I was in Arkansas there was a gathering here in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska gathering. Missed/missing both.  My dumb luck.  Hope everyone has a FANtastic time!
