Friends: I hope everyone had a blessed and restful Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family. My daughter is ever on the lookout for fans for me and she spotted this one on Facebook marketplace for $95 so I emailed the seller (in upstate NY) and she agreed to sell it and ship for $130 (total). The fan is a beast and very heavy. It had a funny "handle" attached to the case (which I removed). ![]() ![]() ![]() This is my first 220 volt fan and I'm anxious to buy a voltage up converter to see how it runs. It is in dire need of some love and attention as somewhere in its life, someone slathered it with black latex paint. That will have to come off. Some information on this fan would be much appreciated. Was it made for the European market? What year?

Wow David, you have those old fans just dropping like flies in your place. The 1403 is just a different voltage and frequency of the 1404 so much of the restoration should follow the 1404 List model. Chad Baker may have a new brass wing bolt for the tilt lock on the trunnion. http://earlyfans.blogspot.com/2011/10/robbins-myers-list-1404-desk-fans-1911.html ![]()
