It is a sample casting.  Lost wax done in brass/bronze?  Have not tested yet.  Busy with work.

I'm sure I could use a few myself.

I hear you.  Let me try selling the pointers first.  The sample looks good.  I need to remove the gears from a broken one and install to make sure it is working.  The casting is very detail.  Take a look underneath the lid...no runs.  Casting thin parts I was told is a pain.

I need an approximate count of how much interest there are in the Kidney gear box with cover. I will be heading down this Saturday to place an order. The gears sat in there nicely. Thank you.

Lou,
I am definitely interested in a full top, bottom and pointer. I luckily have the gears, just need the castings. Feel free to PM once you have the price.

Thanks.

I'll need some too.

There are two varieties with different size holes!

Maybe make the smaller one and we can drill them if needed?

Shaft snug...not too loose...not too tight. I did confirm that it does engage and rotate. There is clearance for the ball bearing as well.

Indeed there is two styles. The one with the two open holes will be/should be ready by end of month.

Enjoy.

Andrew, which of the two gear box do you need?  There are two variations.

I have 2 or three kidneys missing everything... How do I determine which box and gears do I need?

Geo...

If anyone is unsure which box they need...post a picture of the underside of the gear box. If you don't have the gear box...post of a picture of the gear shaft and switch shaft.  I will let you know which one you need.

How much are the parts?  I may have interest in a couple sets. Can confirm which type when I know the pricing.

So far...I only have one sample of version A. I will be picking up more of version A end of month. Version B...currently making a mold...plan on casting at end of month.

Price will be reasonable...I have been talking to folks here on this forum. I'm not fleebay.  This is not my main means of living...like doing this for fun and helping out a little...notice during my readings...many people were frustrated with missing/damage Kidneys.

I was also blessed with a missing Kidney/damage despite buying one which seem to have an intact Kidney. After cleaning it up...oh crap. So...I figured why not do this since I'll bet most people also have this problem. The pointers...selling dirt cheap...did not take much work to mold these.

This endeavor was done due to an original problem I had. I bought a fan from overseas with an interesting oscillator. William Dunlap help come up with the naming..."Brass Ball". I purposefully left that fan discussion...because I had plans...a surprise. But this is the fan that started this whole molding project:
