Hello everyone, this past weekend I picked up a 16" Westinghouse "Darth Vader" PowerAire Fan from around 1936, and I was working on trying to rewire the fan by replacing the original dry-rotted power cord and the old headwire.
Well, when I was trying to get the stator out of the motor housing (my dad was trying to help me) using the vice method I ended up damaging the motor housing and the oscillator gearbox when me and my dad accidentally dropped the motor housing on the concrete floor of my dad's workshop when it slipped out of the vise.
Anyways to put it short the stator was really stuck in the motor housing and was unable to be removed using any of the suggestions mentioned on here for how to remove the stator out of a stamped steel Westinghouse motor housing, which resulted in a damaged motor housing and oscillator gearbox unfortunately.
So with that in mind, does anyone have any parts for this fan or anyone know of any other Westinghouse fans from that time period that would work for parts for this fan?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Levi
