As far as I know Emerson made only 2 lever gear boxes. 12xxx and 16xxx are the same and trojan oscillator gear boxes and 2210 gear boxes are the same.

well, see the photos -the numbers get confusing, the step based VS "Pie Crust" version, the boxes appear the same -a member was looking for the gear box & I figured the next gen step base might be easier to find, like a stump.

Can you run a 12646 without the oscillator? Looks like it would spew oil for one thing.

Motor will be ugly, but fan won't have an oil leak I am unsure if the lever oscillator motor caseswere left or right hand thread for the oscillator bushings. If they are the same thread direction, it will work.

I used #0000 steel wool and contact cleaner recently. Worked like a champ. It was on a friend's 12648. I also disassembled and cleaned all the centrifuge parts on the rotor. Careful though, as it is a stack of tiny fiber washers between the screw head and base to let the plates slide. Contact cleaner and #0000 for those too, but be careful or order new washers in fiber or nylon. Measure ID and OD if washers are needed. Mcmaster Carr has them I believe. He is the 12648 after centrifugal rewire, rebuild, polishing, letter painting, and assembly.
