 Finally finished restoring a Mathes Cooler Fan
Perhaps put a little too much effort in a $100 fan but I think it turned out all right

In previous post I was looking for replacement metal Louvers and the aluminum back....I no longer need those

Step 1

Get old beat up Mathes fan

 Fabricate Walnut case






Have Bill fabricat an Aircraft aluminum blade








Fabricate walnut louvers 1/4" thick ...round edges with 1/8 round router bit...cut to length stain with Danish oil


Drill 7/64 hole in both ends with jig fabricated by my son on 3d printer install shutter pins and repeat 27 times





Use 3d jig to drill 1/4" holes in top and bottom
i



Stick them in the top and invert onto motor and bottom







Slowly clamp together and drop louvers in place



Screw motor mounts ( with hopefully predrilled hole ) into top and bottom



Install back finger savers with pin nails



and enjoy.....make sure it works a few steps ago....

 Wow, those all-wood louvers look amazing! I understand all too well how much time went into this. It will surely look good in any living room now.
