Less drama with this one. Emerson may have redeemed themselves on the switch although I still think it's a crappy design. There's a break in the coil in the very last bit where it connects to the solder blob so high only for now. Runs quite nice. I like the 19044 a little better aesthetically but when you travel in the low rent district of fan collecting you take what you can get for price... Attached Image (viewed 347 times):

You just do not see the small DC's from Emerson around. Nice to see one once in a while. Congrats Mike! Dan H.

A early D.C. Emerson is hardly low rent. They are difficult to find.

Two cool little guys. 😎 What’s the number on this one? Some tag pictures would be nice.

19045. If I had the 6 i'd go 456... Never said the Emmy was low rent only that I live there. Relatively speaking. Had I found a holtzer Cabot basket weave instead if this for the same relative price I would have to think long and hard about springing. This was a no brainer.

Thanks, I was curious if the tag was labeled direct current besides the 0.

Neat! Don't think I've seen a 19045 before.

Can you post more pictures? I’m curious about the switch and speed resistor.

I had it apart Tuesday, it's put away now for the museum. I will say both switches are a 2 tier mica plate design, nichrome winds on both plates.

Junk toasters at the dump recycling offer lots of non-conductive heat insulators free of charge to cut yourself the correct size and dimension sheet for your nichrome wind. You might even find one with mica insulators. ![]() ![]() Last edited on Thu Apr 8th, 2021 06:24 pm by Russ Huber |
