This adoptive couple runs well and are in original shape  $150.00 for the two or can deliver to Dr. Dunaways in November or your choice...

Hi Ellis!  Good question!  The smooth base is printed, and the fancy dancey feller has her cub on it.  I edited out the $18.?? shipping after packing one 6" in fan in a large "priority if it fits it ships".  Its doable if you have good styrofom blocks but cant imaging packing two.  I know Stan Goode would have found a way, bless his soul.  I have thought of him often as I pick through my stack.

Thanks this is interesting. In the AFCA gallery the 2 6" cubs type "G" both smooth and ribbed bases have polar cub stamped on the badges. I have 3 type "G" 6" cubs one smooth and 2 ribbed and the badges have polar cub stamped. My 6" type "D" has the cub and the fan badge. this model has the chrome motor housing and painted base. The question is did the type "G" come with the cub and the fan badge?

Ellis,

I'm not and expert so this statement could be completely wrong, but-

I've owned about 25 of these. All of my G fans have said "polar cub" and all of my C fans (6 or 7) have had the animals. I'm sure there are outliers but I've seen enough to convince me that this was the most common combination and likely in line with the model year releases.

But Mr. Gilbert was certainly a "fly by the seat of his pants" type of guy. You'd be hard pressed to put forth any age appropriate combination that anyone could argue wasn't correct as it left the factory. They has limited floor space and ran their parts in batches. When they ran out of something, they pulled NOS if they had it. If they didn't, maybe the guy down the street did or could make it quickly.

The same is true for Devore a decade or two later. I have one Freshie that the badge has been stamped 3 times.

Being a designer is a talent and being a producer is a skill, and it was and is a challenge to do both.

Cool... I know no one changed cages in the 25 years I have had them, nor probably anyone 60 years before that.  These could very well be the Holy grail of 6" Polar Cubs, Rare Transitional Cub.  I think I have the 8" version of the ribbed base fan, it would be curious to see if its a G or a C?

I did walk to the dining room table and check these two and they at identical Type G motors and tags.
