This is a Menominee's 12" laminated stator brushed either/or  AC or DC fan motor offering dating it appears 12 or 13 intended for alternating current. This model appears to have been on the market 11-13.  In 1912 Menominee introduced it's first brushless AC induction fan motor. The tab base it appears was discontinued in 14 as this was the season the cone base was introduced shown on electrical trade.

There was one on Ebay last couple weeks. Owner (an AFCA member) started at $2250.00. No takers. Following week it was $1950.00, no takers until I offered $1500.00, We settled for $1600.00. He said he had hoped to realize $1800.00.  The paint was in slightly better shape than yours, the cage had three small solder fixes on the back ring, barely noticeable. Nice patina. Works like a champ (gets a little warm after a few hours but not overly so).
Serial # 1593

Essentially the same fan as yours in similar condition.

Hope this helps in your endeavors. At least you know what the trending for this fan is. Good luck, it's a nice fan.

I find it strange that a rare fan like this got no attention and yet a 21645 sells on ebay for almost a grand. :lame Chris, will you be attending Aiken this year?

This fan has everything going for it.  Rarity, desirability, and aesthetic appeal.   Between Ebay and this forum, this is only the 3rd round ball Menominee I recall being offered.

Most of my fans I restore but since this one is so rare I left it as is. Im thinking now I should restore it and then try to sell.

Chris, nice to make your acquaintance. That thing is beautiful. I'd buy it up in a second if I wasn't stretched from here to Aiken. In the past 2 months I've bought a C-Frame, Stag horn, Toilet bowl, just to name a few. I've only been in this for about a year and I'm so deep I can't see the fish. If it were me I wouldn't touch it. It would be like painting your dog in my humble opinion.  Jim

Chris ...... That's a clean nice original example.   If I were in the market and it was restored, I'd pass.  I've become very annal about original paint.   Just saying ........

If anyone is interested, I would be willing to take half now and the other half due at Fan Fair. The half now would be a non refundable deposit. So please make sure you want it before you send money my way.

I deleted my post because Chris informed he had sold the fan. The buyer backed out. I will do a 3 member swap with Chris and another member for his asking price. I'll sell a 17666,19666,21666,Trojan Pancake and a Westinghouse Tank (or a 12648 parts fan with all the oscillator mech but wrong blade and cage) for the asking price. Not interested in shipping, so a midwest collector would have to take it. Happy to drive a reasonable distance to deliver them. All the fans work correctly and are complete with correct parts (cast hubs for instance on the Emersons). I would leave the 19666 (best running 19666 I have seen) and the tank alone, but the others require restoration. You can call or PM for details if you're interested, but it's a limited time offer.

PM sent 😊

Yeah, I would second that. Beautiful fan and I'm sure it'll make the new buyer happy - but like John, if I had the cash available I'd really only be interested in it in it's present state - not restored.
