WTB: Need motor for GE 16" Vortalex (78x236 3-wire) My wires are bare, against casing, so a replacement is needed?!

Pictures help us understand the problem you’re having. Bare wires don’t necessary equate to needing a new motor.

Thanks for your help. My concern is the (3) bare wires as they enter to winding, and could "ground" against the frame/case...
|

It probably could be repaired by a member willing to properly attach a headwire. I’ve repaired worse. Vinyl electrical tape should never be used on a stator. Friction tape is a better choice. Where are you located? Maybe there’s a nearby member willing to help

I really appreciate your interest and support. So, I am three hours from your York, PA location - in (downstate) Millsboro, Delaware. I am excited that it repairable - obviously I've never been into a headwire ! Hopefully, there is another, more experienced, member nearby ??

If you’re not in a hurry, my shop will hopefully be set up in the next few months. Right now everything is packed in boxes. Otherwise I’d be glad to take a look at it. Dave Hoatson is on the eastern shore MD. He has a shop in Chestertown MD.
