I got in a couple of 36" cream colored Emerson roundnose ceiling fans with the "Built to last tag" on the top. I was wondering if anyone knew when exactly Emerson quit producing the old cast iron fans and went to the enclosed permanently lubricated motors? Here is a catalog from '63 showing the roundnose. I know by the early 70s they had gone to the enclosed bearings. I bought one in the early 70s that is hanging in the ceiling of the pier, it still works & the fiberglass blades can handle the moisture. I would imagine that catalogue is close to the last year of the cast irons.

Stan, Thanks for the info. I was just thrown by the later-style emblem on the tag and the vintageceilingfans said the roundnose was discontinued c1950. The fans also came with metal bladed R-36 Hunters with the later style oil cups. -Andrew

I believe that the transition era from oil bath to K63 was 1967-1968. The transition year from K63 to K55 was 1980.
