I'd guess it' older then 1950, what size is it?  Switch OK and work on all speeds? If its its in good shape mechanically and the chrome is salvageable i would  buy it!

How much are they asking? Also, you stated that it is a model 35. That thing is enormous, do you have room for it?

i definetly have room for it. i have my own restoration buisness garage i can use that fan in my garage or in my tv room. i only restore fans that are badly pitted and rusted from the top down my prices are very cheap if your fans need restoring.

Considering this is the second in less than a week, not really rare, just "scarce".

I know of about 10 in the the US.

Well the guy that posted one for sale here recently wanted $350... then apparantly someone told him it was worth $1000.
Now he's trying to sell it on the dtforum site for a grand. I seen that you were speaking to him there and you seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the fan to me.
Funny how these things make people crazy, I wouldnt deal with the guy now.

Does the 35" have a 1/6 HP motor? :wondering: Don't sweat the price stuff.

I always get a bang out of how people think they can put a price tag on antiques. :D Facts are they will sell high.... and they will sell low...for ever and ever until death do us part. :D Nothing, or, no one individual.... will ever change this...fact Jack.

If the dude wants $1000.00....maybe someone wants to step up to the plate?...and then again not? The not part means.... he sits on the monster until death does them part. :D

Well I'm picking up a 35" tomorrow morning so Nick and Dale can keep that fan. I'm not the one that supposedly "couldnt pay the shipping". I think that person doesnt exist. If he had been honest about selling that fan for $350 I would have it right now.
I believe he got booted from this site so he had to try hawking it over in the DTforum site.
I'll post some pics of the one I found in a few days... if the seller doesnt decide he wants $1000 for it tomorrow lol.

He didn't get booted, just deleted.  He was trying to run an auction.

That's what ePay is for.

Yes, I would walk from this one.

As you just showed, they aren't that scarce.

Sounds like the number is up to twelve.

Oh they're scarce alright. I would say that his was worth well more than $350 but he really handled it badly.
He should have just listed it on ebay if he wanted top dollar for it. I have a friend in the Chicago area and it would have been a very easy $350 for the seller, no packing just money counting. He'll find out just what it is to have to pack something like that and get it safely to a buyers home.

Yes indeed. I actually sold my 35 on the BST as a guest, many moons ago when I was just getting into fans other than the CFs I had been dealing with.

The current owner was the first to reply, which was very fast. Fast enough, and the chatter enough, for me to figure out it was "rare". It was also rough, so I don't know how much better it would have done on ePay, where I did sell also.

He also knew what it would take to ship. As I said, 4 custom boxes, pallet, freight.

I can show you the befores; the after is on the cover of the Fan Collector.

I have a fan that I sold, probably to the same person in that same issue of the Fan Collector. I was pretty surprised to see it there too. I sent him an email to tell him how pleased I was to see one of my refurbed fans in a nice glossy magazine.

There's 11 then, there's one in an antique shop in the old section of Palm Springs California, I saw it there this spring. It's huge and minty...

This is a 980 buck boxfan?

http://www.afcaforum.com/view_topic.php?id=22489&forum_id=5&highlight=dominion+boxfan

I don't think so.

Please post your own photos of the 35 when you get it home.
