My wife's mother recently passed away, and we've inherited the home that's been in her family for over 100 years. We've started cleaning out the attic and found a pair of old Vornado fans and a box that makes them into a window unit. My wife remembers her and brother each using one of them in their rooms at night. In fact one of them was being used in the kitchen up until last year. I haven't been able to find much out about them and thought someone on here may be able to help. The tag inside the housing say it's a model 48CT-1. I don't have a picture at the moment but both fans and the housing are a light blue and the stands on each fan in between a teal and dark green. I'm a car guy, and know nothing about fans. One fan has tag on it saying "broken" but everything looks intact and I don't see or smell any signs of heat or electrical damage. The fan turns freely and seems to have the same amount of resistance as the running one, so I don't know. From a body standpoint the paints in good condition, a few chips and some wear on the fan blades. Don't see any dents or dings. Does anyone know what it's worth and how to sell it. It's in Northern WV. Thanks!

These fans are not rare, but also not the most common Vornado fans either. Those fans came in two sizes. The model # you posted probably distinguishes the sizes, but I don't have all the model numbers memorized.

As with any antique or vintage item is worth what someone is willing to pay and what the seller is willing to let the item go for. However, I would say between $50 and $150 would be a good range for the fan you describe.

Hello, i have had both sizes of that fan unit and they are good but heavy. There are two small wing panel extensions for window mounting which are almost always missing, so if you have those it is great to add to the value. They do come up for sale pretty regular, but complete are a great find.... Not sure what "broken" would actually mean, maybe slow to start or bad wire, but each individual fan plugs in to the speed control box... good luck with it!
