So today I visited some antique shops near Opelousas, LA.  After walking past multiple seized and mangled dimestore dispos-a-fans at fully restored Pancake prices..... I made these two reasonable finds.

The Hunter Century was at a shop giving a 50% discount. The shop owner said he had bought a "lot" of these from an army base nearby. They had used them before the base had air conditioning. It is complete, but has an incorrect switch knob.

Also the oscillating pivot point is very loose so as to make it less than confidence-inspiring to carry the fan by its handle... seems the base could fall away. Other than that, the motor seems well oiled and it runs nicely.

The Fasco is complete with the badging in good condition. It was from another antique shop near the first. Unfortunately, this one is closing. The owner said that Fasco fan had been in the store when he bought the building. It was a daily runner until the motor got where it was gummed.

Not like I needed these but I felt they were worth buying at the price and won't hurt to have them. If anyone has an idea of the manufacture dates, I would like to know!

The Hunter looks older due to the thin design blades, the Fasco looks early to mid 1950's. Great finds!

The Hunter Century is from the 1930s or 1940s. The Fasco is probably late 1940s early 1950s.

Thanks guys!  I hope to have time to make videos of them when I get home from work.
