I recently  picked up this nice old Matsushita because I really like them. One question I have about this particular one is what do they mean by double oscillation? It seems to oscillate much the same as any other fan does.

Perhaps it has an adjustable oscillator mechanism?

I think it has something to do w/ the adjustable neck (more or less a marketing gimmick) since all fan shave that too...but on this one its like spring loaded or something...I found a youtube video of one and it looks like when they loosened the adjusting nut it spring upwards without having to be lifted?

Hmmm.  Poked around a little and found an old eBay auction for one of these with this description attached:
Here is a clean and nice vintage Panasonic F-1208 table fan with 12" bright blue blades. It stands 20" tall and is in great working order  just some light wear from age/use, (please inspect the pictures carefully). . This fan runs quietly and features 5-way oscillation with 3 speeds.

Have no clue what that means, just thought I'd throw a little gas on the flames...   :P

I used to sell the panasonic fans in the 70s and the 80-s and the 5-way oscillation was that the neck had "detents" in it so IF you wanted to leave the base pointing right at you, it was possible to set the oscillation to 90 degrees to the right or the left, or dead center, or offset to each side so you got more angle to one side or the other. Frankly you could just turn the base, but this was helpful if you wall mounted the fan. SO. in this case i believe you got the ability to set it to the right or left of center...
