My friend, who is a local Sheriff, found this fan, filthy and forgotten, in a dark corner at the local station.

Was pretty sluggish on high speed, barely moved any air at all on medium and low. Massive dust buildup, and the oil cup and wick were bone dry. Runs great now, three distinct speeds.

Thanks, only took me a couple evenings. I was amazed that the badge was nearly perfect, just a hairline scratch, considering how filthy and scratched up the rest was.

What did you do with the speed control badge?

You might be able to get it repaired. I think there are some people on here that could refinish it, like they do the cage badges that are worn out. It might be worth looking into.

Thanks Stan, coming from you that is a real compliment. Looking forward to Saturday! Thanks Tom also. Levi, I may do something with the speed control indicator in the future; for now the fan is on the credenza in my office, keeping me cool.
