I found a few fans from my wife GP's house.  A couple of Emerson 6250F, a couple of GE's and a Old Hunter.  I don't need all of these fans and would like to know :1: Best place to sell them? Ebay, CL, Here?

2: Should I clean them before selling them? I know some things people like the patina etc on older items. I see some fans with polished brass blades etc.   Is it worth the extra effort to clean and relubricate them? They are all operational and appear to be in good shape.

You will get the most money on ebay. But you really need to know how to pack them correctly. Search Fan packing here and you can learn a lot on how to do it right.

A good way to clean them is to spray them with a little WD 40 and wipe them down. That won't hurt the paint and will get most of the grime off so you can take pictures for eBay. You might want to post pictures here. Some of the members may be able to give you a pretty good idea of the value.
