:cry:The fan was a basket case got new wires on it but blade runs backwards. Emerson 77648 with a cap.  I found some good info but my cat pounced in tie keyboard at the last minute. Some member referenced a article he had written on the fan but the cat struck again and I have no idea where to find it.  Apparently the article had schematics.  Would some member please point me to the correct spot?  It was in the post 1950 area. This unit does have a cap.

Definitely don’t run it backwards. The blade can unscrew.

:clap:The fan runs forward thanks to help from John for posting a schematic made by John M.  Three speeds work it runs slow however. Could the 2.7uF cap need replacing?  Also I have used the correct amount of Zoom ( electric motor) oil but I didn’t have the oscillator unit on the fan. This thing runs me nuts!

I finally got the Emerson running as it should. I want to thank the assistances that I received from our club.
Membership has its benefits but our group is even more dedicated to preservation and attracting new collectors than any other association that I have been a part of. Thanks to all and I thoroughly enjoyed the new issue of TFC.
