I have several small bersted fans, mostly 8 inch and 2 10 inch models, they all have hardly any blade pitch, so they blow very little air and run very fast. i was playing around with one of my 1250Rs and pitched the blades almost to where they hit the cage on both sides, but not quite. it runs alot quieter because it is running slightly slower, and it is blowing alot more air. all I want to know is will this damage the motor in any way? if not why were they all made almost flat bladed? i know they are cheap but how much does it really cost to bend the blades some?

I would check the watt draw before & after. That way you can tell if you are significantly increasing the motor load. That being said, I have increased pitch in several 8” Zeros with little wattage gain. The earlier Eskimo branded 8” models did have more pitch than the Zeros.

my original zero works fine, and i always oil it weekly, it has a nice long spindown time when turned off, but it makes a rumbling sound, i think the rotor is rubbing in the stator, this has nothing to do with blade pitch, i was wondering if anybody has this issue and what can be done to correct this? i have sanded the rotor to no avail, but i did not tske sny metal off, just dirt.
