Here are a few pics of the box fans I scored today. Two Westinghouse Cadillacs, a 7 wing reversible hunter and a penthouse Windsor branded reversible Lakewood

It is otherwise clean and low mileage. The Westinghouse fans are about my favorite model of box fans ever. Out of the two of them I have 4 good complete plastic panels. I should be able to make one of them a good complete example.
The Lakewood is actually the best one of the bunch. No damage, everything works and it just needs cleaned up

I think that I have seen that Hunter model badged as a Montgomery ward. I cant remember seeing one badged as a hunter though. It's a great fan either way I guess. I can repair those mounting holes and make brackets to fit on the outside of the grill and paint them to match.

I'm nearly finished working on the Westinghouse.  I bypassed the thermostat and it runs perfectly. Just need to finish cleaning the rear grill and it will be done

I went with a fairly simple fix for the Hunter. I just need to get some yellow gold paint to match the grill. Paint those washers and it should blend in nicely. Btw I used nylon spacers behind one of the washers and I found the original broken off screw hole mount as a spacer behind the other washer. Nice and snug, no masking tape fixes here

I painted the washers a similar color to blend it in. Its not a great match but good enough I suppose

This is a completely new find for today. Everything works but it's just a little crusty. Hopefully a good cleaning will improve its appearance

I'm going to have a box and window fan sale here soon. I think I'm at or around 20 of them right now and it's time to thin the herd before the new buying season kicks into full swing.

I replaced one of the plastic grills and started cleaning. This one would need a trip to the powder coated to look really good again. It's not rusted more than surface deep but the paint is too far gone where the rust is.
