Hi All,Thanks for allowing me to join this group. I have an Emerson 29645 that was my grandfather's. It has a broken oscillator collar which I understand is a common issue. I have been an unsuccessful in locating any replacement parts. Are there any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Jerry Bravi made some repro collars that are made of cast iron, so they don't break like the original ones do. I highly recommend these collars and have seen them in action. Here's a link to a previous thread posted on this topic. http://www.afcaforum.com/view_topic.php?id=57246&forum_id=2&highlight=Offering+Modification Also, your fan was probably made sometime in the late twenties. There should be a very small number in the lower right-hand corner of the ID plate on top of the motor. Add 20 to this number and you will have the year (or very close to the year) your fan was made.

Thanks a lot Noah! I reached out to Jerry. It looks like my fan was manufactured 1926, but I will need to clean it up more in order to be sure. Are there any guides I can read with tips and tricks to restore this fan?

I can't think of any restoration guides for your particular fan, but the best place to get tips and tricks for your fan is to use the search function at the top of the page. If you can't find answers to your questions using the search function, post a topic in the Pre-1950 section with your question. Also, something you should know before taking the blades off, is that they unscrew. If you haven't taken apart an Emerson fan before, I advise that you post in the Pre-1950 section about getting the blades off. Others there will be able to explain the best way to remove the blades, or will give you a link to previous posts on the topic.
