|I'm helping my neighbor with his garage fan inherited from his dad. I almost have him talked into repainting but he wants to get it running first. We replaced the headwire and cleaned up the incoming wiring and it runs great. We cleaned the old grease out of the gearbox and replaced with some full synthetic and that looks good. But it starts to oscillate and gets to one side and stops so we think it needs lube also.
It looks like we have to take the mount apart where the oscillator rod hits the swivel under the motor housing. We are stuck removing the casting and don't want to crack it. I tried removing the stator screws thinking that I could pull the stator out but it didn't want to move either.
Does anyone have a hint or an exploded drawing? Thanks!
