I finished this fan. Works good. When I bought it it was a barn find. Cut cord, paint was non existent. This is a new color by Rustoleum I really like it.

Thanks guys. Why is it I fix these to sell but I don't want to sell them when I am done?

My wife says that “you can answer that question”! You put so much effort into these restorations that it’s hard to let them go! But think of the enjoyment that you will give the recipient! My wife loved the color too!

Nice color choice Ed. It really pops. That original Westinghouse gray was the gloomiest fan color ever.

Thanks. Only thing left to do is put in the new wick when it comes in.

WOW, it really looks great! Is that 2-tone blue? (The first photo looks like the motor is lighter than the base, but may be just the lighting in the photo)

These fans came in two colors originally. Not sure if that represents different years or what the difference was. As Juan stated, the original "medium gray" with the red ring on the cage was pretty boring. There was also a darker "charcoal gray" with a charcoal gray ring on the cage. I actually like darker color better.

But, on a relatively common fan, it's great to experiment with other colors and what you did looks fantastic!
