The motor in my fan stopped working.  No hum, no nothing.  How do I know if it is dead ??

First, inspect the wiring for broken places, also smell to see if it may have burned. Switches and plugs do fail.
You may want to become familiar with how to use a multimeter.

Best of luck to you!
