I know hassock fans aren't really that popular but I kind of dig them because they were unique and short lived.

I picked up this fan today and the story was it came from a lady who bought it in 1949 when her first kid was born.  That would make sense since that is the year that this fan was patented.
I did a google search and I can't find very many examples of this model/style.

It has a hammered gold/tan paint that appears to be original.

The motor is a Redmond 6117 and it and the cord also appear to be original and in really great shape.

is it possible that this is the original paint on this fan?  Does the motor appear to be correct for 1949?  If so, I am amazed at how well it has held up.
