On the older fans I braid two wire cloth all together. On newer fans like the Kenmore I am refurbishing is plastic covered 4 wire. I can not find it on eBay. I could do the braid but I don't think it would fit well with the fan. The wire on the fan is OK but stiff. I maybe can reuse it but if not will need to source something else.

We worked on a Hunter with a 5 wire cord. The solution was to braid the individual wires and use a heat shrink outside.
