 I would use Rust-Oleum Ivory; that's what I used on my 6250-G. The Rust-Oleum Almond paint is slightly too dark and grayish. Here's what the ivory paint looks like:

That would depend on how much of the original paint is still there.  Have some pics of the fan?  If there's a lot of the original paint still left, I would probably choose to clean and polish it up real good.  But if it is looking pretty rough, then maybe a fresh coat would do the fan some good.  Maybe others can chime in on a method of polishing these blades on the 6250 as I have not done one of those yet.

Kinda like this Emerson I restored.  There wasn't enough of the original paint left, so I decided to redo it (but I went with powdercoat) and I also polished the brass blades as well (as I feel it is a sin to coat over brass :P )

I start with Brasso and finish with fine steel wool. Brasso leaves kind of a dull polished finish, and the steel wool makes it shiny and reflective. Normally I buff blades, but I'm scared to do the overlapping blades.

 I would definitely repaint or powdercoat and polish the blade.

 Repaint for sure. Gonna need to straighten that cage as well, hopefully the blade's not bent. Those are nice looking/running fans when restored, Noah's is a great example. I have one mounted to the wall in my Master bath, same color with highly polished blade. Looks great, got it from David Hoatson as I recall...

 It's personal preference. I like mine to look brilliant shiny and new. If it is something really old and fairly rare, in good original condition, I'll over look a few small chips if the rest of it shine up well. Chips don't show so much on black fans. On white fans, it's like a sore thumb. That would be a full resto if it was mine. A good one to get your feet wet. The fellas here will help you out, you can do it.

 It looks like you have a good candidate for a restoration. I agree that chips on a lighter color fan really stand out. Plus you are part of a great club that will walk you through the restoration process!

 Ouch. That's exactly what happened to one of my Golden Jubilees that was shipped from California. With certain fans, like the 6250, I like to ask the seller to remove the motor from base for shipping.

Send Steven Dempsey a message and see if he has an extra base. Otherwise, https://antiquefanparts.com/ might have it. They have a lot of parts that aren't listed on their website, so you have to send them a message and ask if they have the part you want.

 I thought about using JB weld on my base, but that is a part of the fan that bears a good bit of weight and stress, and I'm not sure if JB weld would cut it. Also, it's hard to clean a cast iron break perfectly, and JB weld should be applied on a very clean surface to work well. If I were you, I'd try to find another base, and if that doesn't work, then maybe JB weld it or have it brazed. Others may chime in and say JB weld is strong enough, but I haven't tried it, so I can't say for sure.

 If that is the part where the motor is clamped to the base, it is under a lot of strain. I don't know if epoxy will fix it, can't hurt to try, it's broken anyway...

 If you JB weld it and it breaks, then it will probably be nearly impossible to get all the JB weld off in order to braze it.

 I would bevel the edges of the crack where you are going to apply the epoxy. You'll want to bolt the pieces all back together so everything is in alignment, WITHOUT epoxying the motor to the base. Good luck, take pictures as you go.
