Thanks for the info. An ashtray fan seemed odd but that’s what the people selling it was calling it. Lol.

That's because there are versions of this fan that had ashtrays built into the top of them and when you pushed a button on the side it would drop the ashes into a little container underneath and the fan would keep the cigarette smoke down.
