The second one which looks like the first one but only has 3 blades is my 20" Chelsea and I bought it for $5.00. The third one was a gift and it is a large 22" Vornado 35E1-1. The fourth one is basically the smaller 18" version of the Vornado 35E1-1 with a slightly different design since it is the second series of the 25E window fans. I got the B25E2-1 (25E) as a gift. Zach has the first series. The fifth one is an 18" LAU window air circulating fan that I bought and the 6th one was also a gift and it is a 20" Frigid WF203R. The only other window fan not pictured here is my 22" Hunter Zephair which was a trash find by my friend and he gave it to me.

Here's a Signal Window / Boxfan, this is a 12" with electric reverse, air diffuser grille & thermostat. This is a nice little fan with a quiet smooth 6 pole motor (same as the full-size 20" model). It's built like a tank, very heavy.![]() ![]() ![]()

Here is a Lakewood Penncrest (Penney's) Twin fan for window use from the mid 1960s. Twin 12" blades similar to C12 box fan, with twin GE motors. I just bought this fan on ebay this weekend and am awaiting delivery. It's not my picture- But it is my fan now! Attached Image (viewed 4652 times):

It seems like the window fans of the 40's have the expanded metal guards. This seems to identify pre 1950 window fans.Does any one out there know when they started manufacturing window fans?Any pictures out there of early window fans, say pre 1946 or earlier?
