A laminated stator gives the motor the option of handling AC eddy currents.  Universal motors with laminated stator are designed(wound) for optional frequency/ACorDC current.


A cast iron field DOES NOT tolerate AC eddy currents, and WILL do the oven effect.


Where are the brush holders/caps on this puppy? :wondering:
