For several years now, Fanimation has hosted a meet at the AFC Museum for enthusiasts of vintage fans. These include hassock fans, box fans, window fans, exhaust fans, desk fans, heater fans, ashtray fans, and ceiling fans, all ranging from the 50's thru the present. These meets were held four times a year on a Saturday. The day started at 10:00am with a tour of the antique fans in the downstairs museum. It then progressed upstairs to the Vintage museum and continued throughout the day. Lunch was offered at noon with pizza and drinks. During the meet, guests were given the opportunity to purchase Fanimation fans from the returned goods area and to "dumpster dive" in the scrap bins.  Tours were also given of the Fanimation warehouse operations. As the meet wore down, many collectors retired to the parking lot to display, sell, and buy fans from each other. Museum activities were usually concluded by 4:30 in the afternoon, but many lingered in the parking area until evening, having a good time visiting with other fan collectors.

This year, the organizer of these meets has decided to move on. The April 28th meet went off as planned and was well attended by collectors from all over the U.S. Tom Frampton has now turned the reins over to the capable hands of Andrew Goold, Geoff Doctor, Reese Umbrect, and Peter Kissane. They are already hard at work planning the next meet, which is scheduled for July 14th, 2018. They post on Ceiling Fan Kids on FB and will have info available soon. Anyone interested in attending can also contact me and I can give you the information. We will also be posting a flyer in the Events section.

This event is not connected to the 2nd Annual Meet at the Museum scheduled September 20 - 22, 2018 for AFCA members and any one else who cares to attend. Thanks, Kim
