Pot metal is often of poor quality, it is not created equally, it consists of what the maker threw in the "pot", and pot metal
may degrade as time passes. A pot metal part that shows signs of degradation will only get worse.
I"d say use it like it is if the fan seems to be balanced okay. If the crack bothers you, either find a replacement blade,
or patch the crack with an epoxy such as JB Weld, for cosmetic reasons only.

To balance that blade, me, and factory? would have added metal weight in those 8 holes in the hub.
That crack/flaw should not be a problem unless the blade is out of balance and could make things worse....
