The motor must be disassembled and then you spray the stator coils with a heavy coat electrical insulating varnish available at McMaster. 

The switch on those can cause the stator coils to be short circuited and therefore burn out. A common problem on the hex shaped motors. 


You’ll need to understand some level of motor construction to understand what a shaded pole motor is. Maybe Google it.  But they don’t have a cap. In the case of the mobilaire. The hex motors do not use caps.
