I can't see the cord for your fan, so it's hard to tell if it needs to be replaced or not. The good news is that cords on fans of that era are pretty similar to cords you can buy at almost any hardware store. Older fans with cloth cords or other variations take a little more searching to find what you need. (But those variations are available as well)
