I just got back from the workshop. WOW, there was all types of repairs being made, winding switches, blade balancing, making bushings for fans. Nick Loos was even repairing slot machines. This is the place to be if you are interested in repairing fans. Thanks to the Dunaways for a great time. Attached Image (viewed 1011 times):

Just got back to FL. Long drive but it was worth it just to see Doc's place. Jeternator and I got there on Wednesday nite. Can't speak for him, but I had a blast.......and what happens in Harrison.....stays in Harrison. 1,875 miles round trip plus 22 million brain cells destroyed....most excellent adventure. Don't much care if I ever see another coin op for a while, though.........Thanks Geoff and Linda for your wonderful hospitality.

Hey Kim: 22 million brain cells killed, that would give you a negative IQ. Geoff and Linda - THANKS for the hospitality and great food -- Most of all, I am glad that I have finally met JETER (Dunaways Dog) I know there has to be a story behind that!!!

Thanks Geoff and Linda for a wonderful time. The workshop is getting about as big as Pig Pickin. Had a heck of a turn out. John from Pennsylvania, Kim from Fla, Jeter from Tenn, Paul from Ga just to name a few. Everybody had fun, worked on fans and other stuff. Its always to be around people with the same interest. We have a lot of friends here in town but they arent fan friends. At least no speeding ticket this time. Didnt hit any deer but saw a lot. Life is good. Steve "Chili man" Sherwood did an excellent job of brewing up some chili. Must have put some extra fireworks in it. First time I saw McComas without a Hawaiian shirt. Had a Hawaiian tie dyed t shirt. Turning into a 60's hippie. Too busy to take pictures, sorry.

It was a great relaxing weekend with good friends and stayed too late Saturday night but oh well it was a good time. I finnaly left and came back to the Motel tonight at 10 and heading for home in the morning. As always I enjoyed the weekend and a big thanks to Doc. and Linda for having us all. Geoff and Linda, thank you for opening your home (and barn) up to all of us and for some good ole southern hospitality. I had a great weekend and want to thank all of the craftsmen that put up with me looking over their shoulder. Here's Kim Frank working on my Coin-op Attached Image (viewed 752 times):

I had a really good time visiting with everyone. I helped convert Kim Frank into seeing the superior quality of the Emerson fans. (After all, he "was" working in the Emerson temple) Thanks to Bill Fanum for fixing me up with a new front bearing for my 16" chrome R&M. Thanks to Tom Newcity for the groovy circulator from Detroit! (I'm getting replacement switch, new feet, rewire job, and cage cleanup & paint and I will have a sweet one!! Pictures later.) Thanks to Geoffrey (Happy Fan Collector) and Linda Jean for the hospitality and the good eats. (Those bacon wrapped, cheese filled Jalapeno poppers were great!) Gotta go.... UPS truck is here...

This was my 1st AFCA event and I had a great time. All the guys were helpful and patient to this newbie. Heck, no one seemed to mind while I watched and learned from people knowing what they're doing. I bought some fans and picked the brains of about everyone I met and learned a lot about colecting and working on fans, so I can hardly wait for the spring workshop. Special thanks to Geoff & Linda for their hospitalty and help. Seeing Geoff's collection was worth the trip and you should have heard me trying to describe it to people back home.

Was there Tequila involved? Did Kim see the light before he got to the bottom of the bottle and ate the worm...or before? ![]()

Late replying as usual, but just arrived home about an hour ago after a stopover in Camden, AR. This was our (wife and I) first time to Harrison, AR and it was great. The weather was super, the fan barn and contents were just............, well, no words can describe it so those that have not made the trip will just have to see this sight for yourself. Geoff and Linda's hospitality was the icing on the cake. Great to see Tom up and about after the surgery, Nick on his slot machines, Jerry, Steve, Kim, John, Ron, Jon, and of course, Paul Graves working his magic at the fan doctor's table just to mention a few. Will be posting some more pictures when I get them downloaded from my camera.
