Just got a Emerson 29646 home I bought recently and noticed the strange SOLID BRASS collar on it. I check it out carefully trying to see if it was something a tinker made but could not determine absolutely that was a home made or stock. If it's home made, someone went to a lot of trouble and time to make it. I think after a good polishing job and maybe a little reshaping, I might even keep it on there, we'll see. Has anyone seen one like this or an even stranger one they'd like to post?

I've got a stump out here with a similar effort. That looks to be a well machined replacement for a busted collar but I doubt that Emerson had anything to do with it's manufacture. One thing for sure , it isn't gonna break down on you !!!

I think that these should be repro'd. They would look super nice on a restored fan.

Ralph, I'm going to try to smooth this one out so it'll look more like the original and if someone would like to use it as a positive for a casting or model for any other method I'd be more then happy to send it to them for that purpose, of course I'll expect to get it back.

I just picked up a 29646 yesterday, 1-11-2020 and it has the very same collar. Don't know what it is for but will find out when I restore it. This fan is heavy! Dale

For those reading this thread for the first time let it be known that Jerry Bravi is reproducing the collars in cast iron.

I made a few brass ones probably 20-25 years ago, but that’s not one of mine.
