Hello, I have never seen this type of Vortalex neck, and am wondering how to go about reassembly. It was fairly stiff so I took it apart to clean it up and there seems to be some missing peices, most notably balls for the top ball bearing

There is also what appears to be another ball bearing in the bottom of the kneck which may just be stubborn to get out?

And another piece which would likely complete the other bearing race on the post coming from the motor.

Very confusing what GE did here..... :hammer:

That's not easy to get apart , I drilled a hole in the bottom of the neck and you can punch it out from there . You wont see the hole after reassembly as its under the knuckle . It's a compression ring that holds it together and it just pushes back together. Your however appears to need a new bearing .

Hi Lawrence, it took lots of penetrating fluid, a screw driver, and elbow grease to get it apart and it is the 12 inch.Pete, it is already apart, but the remaining bearing race will not budge, so looks like I will need to drill a hole like you said.

I dont think we are on the same page . The part you have already removed is easier to get off if you dill a hole in the bottom of the Knuckle and drive it out so that is already done . You have a compression ring on the shaft to hold it in the neck . I cant remember for sure but I think the bearing closest to the motor has another compression ring to hold it in place as well . I'm not real picture savvy or I would highlight your pictures . Either way your bearing appears to be shot . Pete
