New guy here. Am having a pre 1950 GE restored and just purchased a post 1950 Emerson. Model # 79648 SH. CAT. NO. P161. Here’s the label. Can anyone match it to a manufacture date

My guess is that it's a 1967- on most later Emersons, take that micro date on the tag and add 20 to the number to figure out the date.
Welcome to the forum!

Look in the main menu under "Info"- there's a lot of restoration stuff there and you can also use the search function on the forum to find old posts that pertain to your fan. Often members won't reply to a question that's been asked a million times so the search will help you.

Here's a link to the Emerson blade removal.  It can be tricky-  also search on that subject.

Thanks for your help. After figuring out how to remove the cage the blade spun right off. Will clean it up andget ready to start painting.

Thanks again

Finished painting looks great. Will post picture later. Need to see a drawing or picture of the oscillating attachment. The gear box is fine but the lever attachment point and lever is not attached to the round knob. It would oscillate if I could attach the lever at both ends.

Sounds like you're missing a shoulder screw. Darryl Hudson likely has them.
