Does anyone know Chad Baker from Antiquefanparts.com?  He seems to be a reputable parts source and fan collector. I hope he is alright. I personally have never bought anything from him until now. I needed a R&M oiler and couldn’t find it anywhere. Chad has one and sent me a picture. We agreed on a fair price and I paid. He has been unresponsive now for 3 weeks and never sent the part.  I really need this part and don’t mind waiting patiently, but not returning email or PM here kinda worries me now. I really don’t want to make a claim through PayPal, as I am sure he is a nice guy and will come through I hope. Just thought I would ask if anyone could give me piece of mind like he is on vacation or something.

I have had good service from Chad. I bought some parts recently and they arrived quickly and were in good condition. I too have had problems communicating with him. I wouldn't file a claim, he will make it right.

3 weeks no communication is a little worrisome. I just can’t believe if someone would buy parts from say eBay or businesses and don’t get a response for that long they wouldn’t complain.  I sell items on eBay all the time and people freak out if they haven’t been shipped in a couple days. I understand going out of town and can’t ship right away, but at least let customers know.  I really hate that a good person and trusting would do this.  After posting this, sounds like I am not the only one this has happened to. Others have been waiting longer. Personally, I’m not mad about the money, but more upset that this is my first fan and I can’t even run it until I get the oiler. I have been hoping everyday to see this part and let the fan run. Kind of a let down.

An incredibly large number of AFCA members know Chad personally and know him very well. Chad is definitely a stand up guy and a major asset to the the AFCA. I can only imagine he has either been on the road, vacation, or some issue. One thing I can say for sure though is while is stinks not hearing anything and not being able to use your fan you also have nothing to worry about. I'm quite sure there is some good reason (hopefully nothing bad) you have not heard anything.

Justin ,

This was a sale that was made outside of the website.  As crazy as it sounds, these sales can have a tendency to fall through the cracks as yours did.  I'm [size=sorry it is not already to you and it is my fault.  I have been on the road (this trip since early Monday morning) and will be back home sometime late tomorrow.  I promise your oiler will be mailed out Monday.  ]

Chad, I never had intentions on discrediting your reputation. Your reputation is very high and many people recommend you from here. Which is awesome to have a member like you to help members needs. I was a little worried as many time I have tried to contact you through PM here, email and PayPal. . Didn’t really want to make a public thread about this, but I wasn’t sure if this was normal wait times. Interesting to find a response so quickly though on this thread   Sorry to make this public. Glad to know you will make it right!

Mods: please delete this thread.

I think Chad's just getting older. Dealing with fan collectors a lot will age you pretty fast...:D

Someone alerted me to your post or I would have never seen it.  I find many ways to fill my time besides reading arguments between collectors on the forums.
You made this post at the same time you filed a claim with Paypal.
I apologized and your oiler shipped today and tracking is in the photo I posted.

You're missing out mate, half of them disappear before you get to a final resolution. The lamp one in the member section the other day was almost worth the cost of membership.

In reality Chad has been great to deal with. I've bought fans and parts, and each time he's sent it quick and packed really well. The Dayton blade the other day took me 15 minutes to unpack, but was perfect, and the 10'er was in the box. I needed a base for a 19666 and he sent it and waited till fan fair for payment, super way to do business. If one order got lost a little in his schedule, I can assure anyone it was an accident.

I've known the rad Chad for a long while now.  I've purchased from his store with no issues.  Great guy, he just has too many fans that I want.

Thanks Chad for the quick shipping!  Glad you were able to help me out. Sorry if this got out of hand. I didnt mean for this to make Chad look bad. I still plan on doing business in the future as you still held up to your end. What is the best way to contact you for purchases in the future?  Do you have a listing of complete fans for sale anywhere?

Mike the lamp conversation you are referring to was in my thread and I don't appreciate you rehashing things. I dropped the topic, and I wish for it to never be mentioned again.
Thank You,

Levi
