Spotted these exposed fan blades from the window of 
a small restaurant in Bangkok on a recent stopover there.

Thought, "Now those would look cool on a large pedestal fan."  


And, "Too bad good looking blades like these are hidden away!"

Interesting that they are using USA built A/C in Thailand. I have noticed while overseas, that the manufacturers produce identical units in multiple countries. Was in Algeria and saw a similar unit to this, branded Mitsubishi. It was made in Pakistan!
That must be an earlier slimline split-unit. Seems all the newer ones have plastic fan blades now.

As you can see from the pic, the York unit is pretty old.
My observation from many years of travel in Asia is that nowadays Japanese (Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sanyo, Hitachi) and Korean (Samsung, LG) air conditioners dominate the market. 

York and Carrier have presence in these markets still. Carrier does better than York, it seems just from casual observation.
