Hi,I acquired this old belt-driven window fan this past Saturday after waiting a week to pick it up. It was getting thrown away so I felt good about saving it, now I want to make it look new again. This fan is unbranded other than the motor which is a 1/4 HP Delco. Such a weird fan, and I can't wait to see what it looks like after restoration. Attached Image (viewed 321 times):

I would say that quite possibly the motor tag is your answer for the brand of your fan, and that is Delco, I believe your fan might be a Delco from the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Thanks for that info, wow I had no idea it was that old. I expected 1950-1960.

Well Delco didn't make fans much after the the 1950s, most Delco Fans are 1940s or Before.

that is an awesome save! i dont know what kind it is, looks like a torrington blade and the motor being delco could simply be just that, motor only and those motors could be replaced with washing machine and other motors. I know Delco made desk fans i have one....the case looks like an early International but they were very lightweight and not belt drive... the choices are many. great find...us Mothers Aluminum Mag Wheel Polish on those blades and if they arent scratched up you will have mirrors...good luck with it

It's been warmer recently, so today I worked on the old fan, specifically removing the old paint from the bladeset. Used paint stripper and sanding with various grit paper to get the paint and oxidation off the aluminium, final sanding will be with a very fine grit paper. I had originally planned to paint the blade off-white like the original, but I like the aluminium so much that now I plan to polish the blade up to a mirror finish. I also uncovered a patent marking on the hub, and upon looking it up on google patents I discovered that it is in fact a Torrington bladeset designed by Wally Upson. The blade was so much work that I will not be removing the paint on the shroud and cage, I will simply spray primer over the old paint and spray it an off-white. Motor and blade stand will be left original. Attached Image (viewed 111 times):
