I need a cage badge for the Diehl 9510 in the pics below. It's a front oscillator, 9", steel blades plated brass, steel cage, pot metal motor housing, cast iron base and neck. Now here's the poser, I don't know what the badge should look like...I'm guessing that it's the flat brass badge that just says "Diehl" with some swirlies around it, and probably 1" to 1 1/2", maybe a little over. Don't know if a badge from one of the cages with straight spokes would work, but I'd guess not. Nothing on Chad Baker's site, but I'll check with him too. This is a nice running little fan, 3 distinct speeds from a resistance wire control, and just wierd enough to be attractive. Thanks for any help, folks. Jim ![]() ![]()

1917-18 appears to be your fans introduction. 1917 Diehl offers no electrical trade fan motor changes as their fans were marketed and badged exclusively through Western Electric. Attached Image (viewed 124 times): Last edited on Sun Apr 8th, 2018 03:07 pm by Russ Huber |

Thanks for that info Russ, so this fan must be 1918 or later, since it's Diehl badged. I just sent Larry Hancock some pics of this fan for the Galleries, now I'll get back to him with a better date. Nice running little fan, oscillates great, and has very good speed separation. Jim

I have never seen that 9" model before. Cool beans. I "think" Crocker Wheeler brought out the FIRST 9" RESIDENCE fan motor in 12. I am not gospel on that though. Diehl is full of surprises. ![]()

Thanks for that info Russ. Here's a pic of the motor tag on this 9510, I thought it was a little unusual to see the big "Patent Pending". Jim![]()
