Hello friends.
I recently bought an Emerson  but was disappointed to see that it is apparently missing the ball Detente Oscillating Wheel. The piece below apparently goes around this little wheel.

Would one of you gentlemen (or ladies) have a picture of what I am missing so I can see what it looks like? It seems a shame to have such a fine fan that will never oscillate without this critical piece. Thanks for looking.

Yup, its dead.  Now you have to move on in life and find the smaller later much better constructed adjustment case.  :D

I recently had a post on this. Search ball detent. But also a 29646 or and most 27-later wheels should fit

David is needing the SMALL oscillator wheel for a 21645 9" fan and that one has not had parts made to repair the broken pot metal parts.

My bad.  I read the type number wrong.  He has a 12".

David, is there enough left of the oscillator wheel that you can use parts that Jerry Bravi has made?  Shown in the bottom of the first post in this thread:

And I was going by what Russ said about needing the smaller wheel.  Old eyes, worn eyes.  Now we know.

First of all: THANK you to all for the replies. You are so kind to respond. Steve: How are you? Yes there is enough to use Jerry Bravi's replacement part. I will contact him immediately. Thank you again!!

Doing fine David.  It was your brother George who I sold some fans to, right, and he sent them to you to restore?  Been watching your posts, fans looking very good.

Yes Steve, some of these are your fans. George is in the hospital right now having some prep surgery and in two weeks will have some major surgery that is very risky. I'll tell him you were asking for him.The posting that I just put on inquiring about the correct color for green is a big GE that George bought from you. It needed nothing except to be cleaned and new wire installed from the head to the speed coil. I had the blade polished. George had bought a brass cage for it but it looked wrong and I'm a bit of a purist so I put the cage that you sent him back on it. The cage was a bit rusty and in need of some painting so that's why I wanted to have the correct match to make it as close to original as possible. One of the fans you sent him now resides with Sidney Lamb who is rewinding the stator for me. I should have it back before too long. I won't rush Sidney. He'll do it in his own time.

. I talk Sidney occasionally (he is quite a fine gentleman) and I imagine I'll have this big GE back before too long. That fan had three wires going to the stator - something I've not seen before with the GE's that I have worked on (which have two wires to the stator).
